New Start Something! Tour Event In Turin

On June 15th there will be a new Start Something! Tour event in Turin, hosted and organized by Microsoft, in collaboration with TTG - Torino Technologies Group community. As did in the previous event held in March, it will be an open day for people who want to write and test their applications on Windows Phone devices (in collaboration with Nokia) or Series 5/Series 7 Tablets and Notebooks with Windows 8 (in collaboration with Samsung).

MetroMVVM On Codeplex

MetroMVVM is a .NET helper library for Windows 8 Metro style XAML applications. It contains a set of basic components, helpers and extensions to easily develop apps based on the Model-View-ViewModel pattern. The goal of this library is to make Windows 8 XAML apps development faster, using a widely adopted pattern and a decoupled architecture, so developers won't have to spend time solving problems that have already been solved.

Expression Blend Preview For Silverlight 5

Experimenting with WES 8 CTP and Kinect

For a demo project involving Kinect, my colleague Dorangela Daniele and I started to play around with the recently released Windows Embedded Standard 8 CTP. I already tested both Kinect SDK 1.0 Beta 2 and Kinect SDK 1.0 RTM in Windows 8 Consumer Preview, so we were confident that it would have worked fine in WES8, too.

Windows Phone SDK 7.1.1 Released

The final version of the Windows Phone SDK 7.1.1 Update has been released today. It is a patch and not a standalone product, so the Windows Phone SDK 7.1 has to be installed before applying the update.
